Academy Awards Lovin’

Academy Awards Lovin’ –  Silver and White were the dazzling tones on the red carpet. Milla Jovovich had the shimmer with a gown from Ellie Saab. Elegant design with caped detail from Tom Ford brought to life an elegant Gwyneth Paltrow. Jennifer Lopez in a plunging Zuhair Murad Dress.

Style off the court

As we build up to the Australian Tennis Open in Melbourne, Andy Roddick has come out sporting a new sexy hairstyle – the Mohawk. It is always the ladies of the tennis circuit that steal the show with their sexy cut dresses and revealing style. So, it’s great to see one of the gents getting some attention. I actually like his new cut – it toughens up his image and I definitely like the unshaven look to match. See you court side.

iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards – Highlights

Design by Wong Kwai Ching from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Compere for the night Samatha Hayes chats to guest of honour Zandra Rhodes.

I was really impressed with the designs on the catwalk at the iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards held last Thursday night.

It was  great to see the buzz this event has created on the international fashion circuit come to life in the small town of Dunedin.

The event attracted 28 desingers from across the globe and here are some of the highlights.

What I loved!

Design by Emelie Johansson – Swedish School of Textiles – grey tights teamed with a red velvet dress and apricot cardi – beautiful.Design by Sophie Hardy – Otago Polytechnic – The look of this collection is very street. The clothes are wearable and would look great worn shopping, dancing and when wanting to stand out!

The above three pictures are designs by Daphney Ho – Hong Kong Polytechnic –

I really fell in love with her designs – they are so wearable, the trousers with that detail and the floaty blouses – SHOULD BE IN SHOPS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! And the shoes – WOW!

Design by Roxanna Zamani – A Southland designer who studied at Otago Polytechnic and was the crowd favourite on the night.

And The Winners………
